innattentive driving ,accident involved

upon approaching an intersection,the light was red and i came to a stop.oncoming traffic had the green arrow,i was turning right. as soon as it was safe to proceed, with the crosswalk clear,oncoming traffic making left turns, and traffic going the direction i was turning in also clear,a transient began walking across street i was entering onto. at halfway into my turn,i turned to glance once again for traffic coming in the direction i was turning into.in that time,he was already down below the front of my pickup out of my view i do not understand how i did not see him.this man has a record for public intoxication,and obstructing a road or passageway in another state.a transient who now has a lawyer upon being released from a 6 day stay at a hospital for a scratch on his head from a 3 mile an hour impact and being dragged a few feet as he held onto my bumper and never made a sound ,i received an inattentive driving misdemeanor because officer couldn't understand how i didn't see him.they also got info from a witness inaccurate by his account on police report,and his most recent account.i believe i was not negligent, what can i do?

you need to request a jury trial, hire an attorney, and have the trial.
