You should be able to sue him in Idaho State Court b/c of Idaho Code section 5-514 which says when you have jurisdiction over an action in Idaho. Paragraph states: "The transaction of any business within this state which is hereby defined as the doing of any act for the purpose of realizing pecuniiary benefit or accomplishing or attempting to accomplish, transact or enhance the business purpose or ojbective or any part thereo for such person, firm, company, association or corporation." the problem is that you would have to serve him personally in NY, then collect against him after you receive your judgment in NY.
