Legal Question in Criminal Law in Idaho
Parolee Prohibited from Contact with Wife
My husband was granted a parole date and told by the parole commissioners that he could have no contact with me for the duration of his parole (3 years) although he commited no crime against me, nor with me. I have no criminal history, and we have a legal marriage. Is this legal?

Re: Parolee Prohibited from Contact with Wife
The parole commission has broad authority to fashion an appropriate
condition for parole. Whether it was applied illegally in his case
is something I can't tell you without reviewing the reason for the
commission's decision.
There is nothing on its face that appears illegal.
YOu should contact the parole officer and find out the reason for
this particular condition.
Without more information, I can't answer your question further.
If you wanted me to represent him in this matter, I charge $120/hour
for the work I do and I usually require a retainer fee to start a case,
depending on your circumstances.
