Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Idaho

Sports Betting Service Contract

I recently purchased a service from a company to receive sports betting picks from them. I agreed to the charges in a voice recorded conversation (saying ''yeah'') for the service in the amount of $2,000.

Part of an earlier conversation with them contained them stating that they would contact me daily with picks and the strategy (that employee is no longer with them) but they have not done this and left me with their voice recorded picks or leaving a message and them getting back to me.

Their picks and advice have lost me $800 and I have only won one time in about 10 tries.

I have never signed anything for the service and was wondering if the contract was legal due to the fact that it is over $500 and not in writing?

I was also wondering if there is any way the contract could be disputed due to the fact that they did not fulfill part of their service which unfortunately was not part of the recorded conversation?

Hopefully this is complicated enough! Thanks!

Re: Sports Betting Service Contract

The key question is where this betting service is located. The one has to determine which court has jurisdiction over said service and what law applies to the transaction. I doubt anything short of a lawsuit will get their attention.

By the way, I was a 72% winner in my personal football picks last season. Not bad, huh?
