Legal Question in Immigration Law in Idaho

hello

This is my 2nd letter from ''hello'. I am married to a US Citizen for over 4 years. I am a greencard holder. We live with my 2 children. My husband is verbally abusive and he won't even talk to my 8 years old daughter . I can no longer live with him but it's only been 3 years since I live in US. What am I supposed to do to not lose my chance to get my citizenship? Besides , is it already eligible to file a citizenship in 3 years without any single absence?

Re: hello

Yes, you can proceed to file an application for naturalization (citizenship). Have you initiated a separation from this man, or a divorce? You can apply, and wait for an interview. If I were you, however, I would document all instances of abuse -- and if you are still living with him, I would suggest you decide whether you wish to remain in this position, or go forward toward something better. So far, you have not lost your chance at citizenship from what I see; however, you'd better apply soon before you get further and further into the abuse cycle, okay. Find a good lawyer to help you. Good luck to you.
