Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Idaho

did he violate privacy laws?

i bought a mobile home from my grandparents, our loan is seperate from my space rent lease, and my grandparents are not on this lease, it is only me. But my landlord called my grandpa and told him i was occuring late fees and he wanted him to take care of them for me, he did not tell me he was contacting my grandpa, but rather called him over 6 times harassing him about me and telling him all my pymnts and fees and so on, to me this was none of my grandpa's problem, especially since they are nothing to do with my space rent agreement, he had there # because my great grandma rented this space from him over 10 years ago, did he have a right to tell anyone my personal business knowing they are not on my space rent agreement? whether i owed him late fees or not?? i feel like it was only my problem!!!!

Re: did he violate privacy laws?

he had the right to try to collect his money but that doesn't mean he could call your grandparents. Did you tell him in writing that he should not do so? If not, do so now, send it by certified mail and keep a copy for your records
