Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Idaho
Sibling dispute over selling jointly held inherited property
Can you recommend an attorney in Lewiston, Idaho for this matter.
Can you also give me a general idea of what information they might require and what can I expect this to cost.

Re: Sibling dispute over selling jointly held inherited property
I have not handled one of these suits, but Robert Whipple, who prepares excellent answers for this site, has and has mentioned he normally ends up charging a client about $10-15,000. perhaps it will be somewhat cheaper where you live, as San Fancisco-Bay Area attorney fees are higher than most parts of the country.
Is it really worthwhile to fight the matter? A judge is very likely to order the sale, especially since the heirs are already fighting over the property and the fairest way to handle the situation is to sell the property and split the proceeds as the Will states. Can the siblings who want to keep the property afford to buy the others out of their share? Pay rent to the others, give them something of equal value from the estate? Legal battles cost money and the only one happy at the end is the judge because there is one less case to hear.
You need, if you are going to see a lawyer, to ask him/her what they want to see--the Will and nay other estate papers, any documents in the court's file if it has or is being probated, appraisals of the property, a list of the heirs and their share of the property and position as to its sale, etc.
