Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Can i file bankruptcy
I owe 15,000 on a credit card and it went to court in 1999. I was ordered to pay so much a month. I did this by sending in a coupon with my payment. They didn't send me anymore coupons and they sent this to court and garnished my wages. I work at UPS and don't make that much working part-time. So they only get money when I work overtime. Which don't happen often. I have paid them a total of @ 5,000 and it has been 7 years and they want to go back to court. What can I do. I know I should of filed bankruptcy, but I didn't. Can I file now or what will happen. I made them an offer of 3,000. if they would just settle for that but they wouldnt settle for anything. so it has carried on like this for 7 years. I just don't know what to do?
