Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois
I'm from Illinois. With the understanding that these things vary from state to state: a question on municipal police jurisdiction. Suppose a peace officer from a township parks his patrol car on the border of a neighboring township. You pass his vehicle entering the neighboring town. Under what circumstances does the officer have the authority to cross into another township's jurisdiction and pull you over in an investigative capacity?
