I have a brand new apple computer. I puchased apple care with it which provides on site support. My computer has a defect, and apple refuses to provide on site support, instead they ask me to take it to an apple store

Assuming you have the standard Applecare program, the program terms and conditions I just read on line says on-site service is available only if you are within 50 miles of an authorized Apple store. Are you? Were you awre of these provisions BEFORE you bought the program?
