Legal Question in Disability Law in Illinois
I work in a call center and I take incoming calls, our department has added new employees and they wanted to to train the new employees on the phone, the problem is that I am hard of hearing, while I can hear, I do have a problem hearing at time, in the past I have made this know to them and have told them several times, that I have a hard time hearing at time while I am on the phone, and they are insistant that I train while I am on the phone, I do not what my stats affected by this, what is my right and what should I do to protect me, they do have other people that can train and they have in the past, but because I am the best in the department they said I have to train

The answer is to put your request for accommodation in writing. Then if there are adverse consequences you will have given formal notice of your need for an assistive device.
