Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Illinois
Appeal
If an appeal is filed properly and timely, does the appeal automatically cause action ordered in circuit court to be placed on hold?
Can an opposing attorney cause an action to be ordered when the action itself is a large part of the basis for appeal?

Re: Appeal
Your question raises several issues of appellate procedure. The question may be able to be answered by examining the order from which the appellant (the party seeking review) is appealling. In general, your question would best be addressed by an attorney who has the opportunity to completely review the record in this underlying case.
