My mother was recently killed January 17th 2002, on
city property (chicago housing authority) due to security
neglegence. We have witnesses who heard my mom
say just before she was killed that she feared for her
life and she didn't want to work in that building. We
filled a lawsuit against (CHA). The case was bought
before a judge whom in turn wrote the law stating ''if
you are hurt on city grounds you are only entitled to
compensation, nothing more nothing less.'' can
ANYTHING be done about this????? I think CHA
purposely asked for this particular judge.

It is important to see the exact language used by the court in making its decision. If the case is over and a decision has been rendered, there is normally a thirty day time frame in which to ask the court to reconsider what has happened, and a slightly different thrity day time period in which to file an appeal. However, in some circumstances, there can be motions to vacate judgements for up to two years. Without seeing the court's decision, it is impossible to form an opinion as to its propriety.
That said, I assume that you were represented by counsel in your prior lawsuit. What does your current lawyer say? When did the court render its decision, as you only have 30 days to file an appeal. Also, incidentially, judges are randomly assigned -- there is no "asking for" any particular judge.
