How can you vacate a default judgment in Illinois ?

The normal procedure is to make a motion to vacate the default and to proceed with whatever the next step would be in the case -- file an appearance, file an answer or something else. If it's more than 90 days after the default, however, there are more strict requirements. The best advice is to see an attorney to do it for you because knowing how to properly state the motion, file it, set it up for hearing, and properly argue it, does take some know-how.
