Legal Question in Aviation Law in Illinois
Private Air Strip
We own a powered parachute. We have a private
airstrip in our pasture. What liability do we have if
friends land their parachutes here ?

Re: Private Air Strip
The act of allowing your friends to land does not create liability. Negligence creates liability. So if you do not engage in any negligent act or ommission then there is no consequence to you. The downside is that you are not the one who gets to decide the issue of negligence. You could have insurance, or a waiver from your friend, or designate the property (in Illinois)for recreational use.
