Legal Question in Banking Law in Illinois
check expiration date
I wrote check on 12-13-06 to a local wine store. It still has not cleared my bank account almost one year later. Can I re-add the check amount back in to my account after this long?? The merchant is somewhat of a shady character, in that most of their suppliers require cash payment before any order will be placed.

Re: check expiration date
I would cancel the check with the bank before I took it out of my check register.
Ultimately you still owe the money.
