Legal Question in Banking Law in Illinois
A credit card bank on the credit report has put me as deceased!
My husband passed away and a bank put me as deceased on the credit report. We had a joint account. I've contacted them several times by phone and no one can help me including managers and supervisors. They said they will look into it and call back and no reply. Now my credit score is a ZERO. What can I do?

Re: A credit card bank on the credit report has put me as deceased!
This is unfortunately not an uncommon problem. You should first of all make sure that it is only this one bank that is listing you as deceased. If your credit score is zero, you will need to get the word to as many places as possible that "the news reports of your death are greatly exaggerated."
Make sure to document everything and get the names of everyone you speak with. Good luck, and feel free to call us if you have any questions.
