Legal Question in Banking Law in Illinois
Am I responsible for a bank truck loan that is only in my deceased spouses name? I reside in Illinois. The title the bank is holding is in both our names but the loan is only in his name.

Yes, you are responsible. You should contact the Secretary of State DMV to correct the title, bring them a copy of your husband's death certificate. If you can't afford to repay the loan, surrender the truck to the bank. Ask them to waive the deficiency balance.
