Bankrupt Company Still Owes Services

I had a roofing company tear off and replace my roof, and it's been nothing but headaches since. Between the shoddy workmanship, lack of customer service and multiple trips to re-do work they did wrong, it's eaten up a lot of time.

I found out today they are bankrupt, and they still owe me services that were part of our original contract. They also need to pay me for damage they did to my property and my neighbor's property during the job.

I financed the roof through a financing company they recommended, but this financing company has already paid the roofing company. I have not paid the financing company anything yet, partly because I have no payments or interest for an additional month, but mostly because the work on my home has not been finished.

Do I have any legal recourse to recovering any of my money, or getting reimbursed for the damage they caused?

No, you do not. I am certain your contract with the finance company lays out that you are borrowing money form them and they are not responsible for how you spend it.

Sue them under the consumer fraud act

There is no guarantee that you'll recover the money but you need to consult a bankruptcy attorney about pursuing your claim through the bankruptcy court. I'm not sure what your cause of action would be based on what you've said, but you might have some type of claim against them through the bankruptcy court,otherwise you don't have much hope of recovery and will still owe the financing company money.
