Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Bankruptcy discharged but creditor still harassing
I am just curious as to what action I can take against a creditor that was included in our bankruptcy. Our bankruptcy was discharged 2 and a half years ago and this creditor keeps demanding payment. They have turned it over to several collection agencies who have in turn called my husband at work and at home and threatened to take us to court. Is this legal?? What can I do to stop this.

You have the right to file a written motion with the bankruptcy court requesting sanctions, or punishment, against the creditor for violating the injunction of the bankruptcy court's discharge.
