I file bankruptcy 6 years ago. I got laid off and now i am behind in my payments. Can I file bankruptcy again now?

Under the new law, you are only able to file Chapter 7 every eight years. Chapter 13 could be a possibility though. Under Ch13, you can pay back certain debts, possibly as low as 10 cents on the dollar. The timing of your filing will have to be reviewed, as we may need to wait until you start back to work.
