The "discharge" of a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy petition refers to the Bankruptcy Court Order which in effect closes the case, discharges certain debts of the debtor, perhaps excluding certain debts from discharge, and perhaps imposing other requirements on the debtor. The debtor must complete a post petition instruction course in personal finance. Unless some party such as a creditor appeals or objects to the Court order, the case is closed.
