Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Collection agencies
I am contemplating filing for bankruptcy. My question is, if I have a bill which has
been transferred from a credit card company to a collection agency, can I still include that bill in a bankruptcy filing? I also have a bill that has been transferred from a credit card company to a lawyer...and I received a letter from the lawyer stating non-payment could result in a potential lawsuit. Can I include that bill in a bankruptcy filing? Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Collection agencies
Not only can you , but you must list all of your debts whether pre -collection or post, or pre- judgment or post judgment, barring fraud or dishonesty you will probably get a discharge to all your debts and you can re-affirm on any secured debts, to things like auto, appliances ect.
