Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
a creditor is taking me to court to get a judge order to garnished my wages but i have filed bankruptcy already wat do i do when i go to court

Tell the Judge and the creditor that you have already filed bankruptcy. Provide both with a copy of your Petition and the case number. Unless this is child support, you should be protected by the automatic stay. Judge will dismiss suit and tell creditor to file a claim with the BK court.

Absolute Law Hopefully you have an attorney and are not self represented. Unless they back off immediatly with an excuse, you may have a stay violation.
