Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Where to file
We recently moved from Illinois to California. We consulted a lawyer in Illinois, and have decided to proceed with bankruptcy. The house we are giving up in the process is located in Illinois. We will be retaining one financed vehicle if the finance company agrees. Should we file in California or Illinois?

You can file in CA after you have been here 6 months.
