Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

Is This Fraudulent or Illegal

I am considering filing for bankruptcy. Is it fraudulent or illegal to remove a consignor from a creditor right before filing for bankruptcy to eliminate the consignor from being responsible for a debt?

The creditor has the option to refuse the name from being removed so is it just their loss considering they have the option to review my history with them and decide if the consignor can be removed?

Re: Is This Fraudulent or Illegal

I assume you mean "co-signer" vice consignor. In any event, it is not your call to "remove" a co-signer from documents creating a debt. That is done by the creditor. I wouldn't recommend that you delete this information from you bankruptcy petition, as doing so can be both fraudulent and illegal.
