Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
If my friend purchases items(appliances) for me on a credit card, and then files bankruptcy, am I responsible for paying off these items?

No, but I would bet that the Trustee would want to know where the items are since they are purchases made within one year of filing. Just a thought, and I know that you and your "friend" would not wish to commit bankruptcy fraud.
