Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

I have no job, money or anything of any value. I have an alias summons in Chicago for a repo. car, of $7,350. I cannot afford to even pay court fees. What can I do? Not go to court and wait for a garnish of wages when I do find work eventually? Will bankruptcy be a better option if I can get the money for it?

The county court house does have provision for those with low income. You should go to the Daley Center and go to room 603, which I believe is the general pro se help desk. The staff and volunteers there will be able to discuss your situation in full with you and help you fill out Cook County's fee waiver forms. Bankruptcy should always be used as a last resort, and will not stop a garnishment or lien already placed on your possessions and income.
