Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
I have a judgment against a former tenant. For both unpaid rent and damages to the property. They had to be evicted unfortunately. In addition they tried to freeze the pipes when they finally got out of the house. If I remember correctly the judgment was around $6,000 dollars. I have received a letter in the mail saying they have filed bankruptcy.
It is a notice of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Case, Meeting of Creditors, & Deadlines.
This is in Illinois.
My question is:
Do I have a good chance in preventing this kind of debt from being discharged?
Thank you,

While you should consult with a local bankruptcy attorney, this sounds like a debt that is dischargeable.
