Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Lawsuit pays off bankruptcy, or does it ???? NOT
If you won a law suit after filing chapter 13 and the money was more than sufficient to pay off the debt of your bankruptcy, and the trustee of the bankruptcy is the Court. How can they still take everything from you?

Sounds like a question for your ch13 lawyer, but I could see that if the chpater 13 was only a ten percent to the unsecured, the ch 13 trustee could ask to modify the plan so a larger dividend could be paid to the unsecured creditors, chapter 13 law says you will use your best efforts to pay what you can afford to pay, during the term of the plan. What does not get paid gets discharged.
