Non government school loan.
Can a student loan, issued by a private agentcy be discharged on a chapter 7 bankruptcy? This is a loan from a place
that is not connected to the government at all.

Re: Non government school loan.
It IS possible that some student loans are in fact dischargeable in bankruptcy. There are rules for this, and really, the issue isn't whether the government made the loan; it is more of a question of whether government money was used. A bankruptcy lawyer should review the loan contract and give a professional opinion based upon that and upon the application of the extant bankruptcy law to the factual situation.
