Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Pertaining to re-marriage
Because of insurance problems, we were wondering if a new marriage before dealing with financial problems will complicate things even further. My coverage was suspended, but to pick his up we need to be married. Should we wait, or will it have no effect on reorganizing debt or filing status if we decide we have to file a Chapter? Thank You!

Re: Pertaining to re-marriage
You need to discuss this with a lawyer, who can examine your situation/s in specific detail.
It would be very foolish to try to handle this without a lawyer. What you save in legal fees you will lose many times over because of mistakes and unnecessary complications.
If you can't afford a lawyer, go to Legal Aid. Most bar associations also have panels of lawyers willing to work at reduced fees.
Good luck!
