Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois

refund check due to name listed on mortgage

We recently filed bankruptcy (chapter 7)in Illinois. We know of some other couple that filed chapter 7 in illinois as well and they received a refund chec of $1400.00 to $1500.00 . (this was for $700.00 or $750.00 for each name listed on their mortgage.)they also filed on their house. Do you know what this check would before, because we have received nothing inregard to a check for our mortgage?

They may have received money owing to a class action recovery. They may have received money owing to an escrow payment on a refinance. Of course, every case varies and we would have to see the documents in order to know for sure what happened in that case.
