Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Social Security
My husband and I live on social security. We own 2 cars, one has a lien to a creditor. Our total income net is 1750.00 per month. We have no other assets and we rent an appartment. Our clothing and furniture combined would not add up to 2000.00.My question is should we file bankrupsey as we are swamped with medical bills or can a creditor take our social security money.e both have our checks direct deposited. If it makes a difference we get social security disability.I am 53 my husband is 63.
