Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
I am waiting for my bankruptcy to be filed. I have a court case tomorrow to turn over $800 in my business checking account that has been on hold and discovery of assets. I can not get another continuance and my BK lawyer is not calling me back I believe because he is a 1 man office with little time. Not sure what to do about tomorrow. I thought BK would be filed and slate wiped clean. Do I call the other attorney and explain I am filing? Do I call the other attorney and try and reach a settlement? If we do reach a settlement and my bankruptcy goes through is that settlement then canceled?

You must contact your attorney and find out if your Bankruptcy case is filed. Do not call anyone but your attorney right now and go over to his office if you have to in order to contact him. Since you have retained that attorney he must advise you on this.
El Cajon Bankruptcy Lawyer If he is a one man office, then he is probably anxious to build good word of mouth and advance. Are their other reasons that he hasn't filed your bankruptcy? (Fee's CCC Certificate, information requested but not supplied)
