Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Illinois
Wiping out a Judgement
A collection law firm filed a judgement against me on behalf of a credit card co. I did not appear at my court date and filed for ch. 7 two days later. I was discharged 7 mos. ago from all debts and the orig. creditor has been written off and shows a zero balance. The County Clerks office, however, shows no satisfaction for the judgement. Doesn't the ch. 7 wipe out the judgement and if so, who's responsible for updating the status of the judgement to the credit bureaus? Thank You!

The simple solution is to call the law firm that filed suit against you and find out what is going on.
