had boat repairs done, it was not done properly took boat out about 4 times and overheated, led to a bigger problem. this is water cooled system and it was part of the major job he worked on.
mechanic trying to put blame on us..
this is a house boat that only does about 10kts..
who;s problem?

It is impossible to say from the facts presented. If you want to sue the individual who did the repairs, you will probably need an expert, i.e., another repairperson, to testify about the problems with the work which was done.
The the other attorney is on point here. You need another repair person to investigate and provide a report. If it's the fault of the original mechanic, then you can sue. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
