Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

I bought a piano four years ago from a piano store for $12,800. I charged this to my credit card. staff from the piano store called me today saying they never got payment. They said that the credit card charge was approved at the store but never went through to the credit card company. I checked our records and our credit card company was never bill. Does the store have the right to demand immediate payment four years later after their error?

Obviously you need to pay for the piano. Sure the music store, or the credit card company, made a mistake. When you noticed that the charge did not appear on your credit card bill, you could just as easily have notified them. So, yes, I would say they have a right to demand payment.
