Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
At a car dealer I signed papers to purchase a car with my wife as cosigner. She wasn't there. She was to come in later. When she saw the car she did not want it. She refused to go in and sign. They say they don't really need her signature even though there was a place for her to sign on each document. We would like to invalidate the sale. They say they will just put it through with my signature.

Sorry, but the car dealer is certainly within its rights. You signed, you are responsible. The fact that there is room for someone else to sign does not "invalidate" your obligation.
