Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
Cost of living raises
The company I work for was recently giving cost of living raises. Several people did not receive the raise cause they were at the supposed cap. Which I have worked for the company for seven years and believe that I should make more money than new hires. Just a personal belief based on experience at my job. Which if this is not illegal they should make it illegal because I could leave the company and get rehired for more than I currently make. Except for benefits but one year compared to seven years, is not a great deal.

Re: Cost of living raises
If you feel you are entitled to a raise, then you need to gather your information and convince your employer. Your company does not have an obligation to give you a raise.
