Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
Is this Defamation too?
Thank you for your repkly to my first message. On the other website the poster also posted'' I contacted X (me) and she was not very professional''. Is this statement defamation? I know that potential clients seeing this webpage might very well not want to use my services. This staement hurts my reputation and it can hardley be true as I have a lot of previous satisfied clients.

Re: Is this Defamation too?
It would be very difficult to establish that a statement like "she was not very professional" constitutes defamation. People are free to state their opinions, even if their opinions are negative about a subject and even if most people hold a different opinion. The statement "she was not very professional," while not stated as an opinion, is clearly very subjective. While there is room for argument, I believe most judges would treat it as an expression of a personal opinion.
