Re: depositions v. interrogatories

What advantages does a face-to-face conversation have over letter writing? The former, a face-to-face conversation, is akin to a deposition (although the answers are given under oath and recorded by a court reporter), and the latter, letter writing, is akin to interrogatories -- written questions and answers.

By understanding the nature of these discovery tools, you can readily see the advantages of one over the other.
