Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

designs for vases

Is it legal for me to use designs bought at such places as ''Hobby Lobby'' to put on vases and sell at craft fairs or the internet or do I have to use designs I make on my own? Such as plaid, flowers etc.

Thank You for your response.

Depends on what the seller states you can do with their design, unless the design is so basic to be considered not unique

If the designs are not copyrighted, you can use them, if not you need permission.

Re: designs for vases

That would depend on two things;

one, is whether the design is copyrighted, if not, no problem, if so, then did you not only purchase the design, but did you purchase a license that allows you to use the design for commercial purposes?
