Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

Ex-Client hacked into my account

Can you tell me if I have any legal ramifications, if any, in this scenario? I own a web design firm, and had a contract with a client go bad. After creating the client's website, they did not pay, and I suspended their account. The contract was settled out of court, and I won. This was about one year ago.

Recently, I tried to login to my account where I host all my domains, and could not get in. I called the company, and it seems she called the company, acted as me, and changed the account to her name, address, phone, etc.

She gained access to all of my domain accounts (over 30), and even changed information on some of these accounts. I have called the company and removed her from the account, and restored services to my name.

Is there any way she can be punished by law for this?

Re: Ex-Client hacked into my account

If the actions took place after your settlement there is a good chance you can sue her. If your question regards criminal prosecution, you need to contact your local State's Attorney.
