Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
I am not sure whether I am in a general or limited partnership and I do not know if it matters. Can someone please tell me if I can be prosecuted for crimes that my partner committed in the business.
Thank you

You can have civil liability for debts incurred by a general partner, as a general partner. You are an agent for your partner and vice versa. However, more than an agency relationship is usually required to meet all the elements of a crime.
