Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
I am a locksmith, specializing in auto lockouts. many of my calls take me to local taverns and eateries that serve alcohol. If a customer is under the influence and i retrieve their keys for them, can i be responsible for anything that may happen to, or is caused by them do-to their intoxication? Thanks. William

That's a very interesting attorney question. You probably should re-post in the personal injury category as business attorney's, like me, don't deal with these types of issues. It sounds akin to a bar that keeps serving drinks to a person who is obviously intoxicated. If you are helping an obviously intoxicated person to drive a vehicle, you could be held negligent and liable, just as a bar owner. You might also talk to your insurance carrier to be sure you have coverage, with a very high limit, for what you do. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.

Granted, it would be a bit of a stretch, but certainly not outside of the realm of possibility.
Not likely, but possible. Talk to your insurance agent and find out if there is coverage.
