Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

Non-retail internet biz - must I Foreign Qualify?

I am forming a Delaware LLC to keep my ownership of a blogging business anonymous. This is due to the sensitivity of subject matters and the personal safety threats to especially female bloggers that have been making the news lately. I will be working solo from my home office in IL. I will not be selling retail so sales tax is not an issue. All income will be generated via ad revenue. I will not be consulting through this LLC. Does blogging from my IL home office constitute doing business here? Do I need to foreign qualify in Illinois and would that spoil the anonymity?

Re: Non-retail internet biz - must I Foreign Qualify?

You may need to foreign qualify, but more info is needed to determine that, such as if you will be processing payments here and keeping a bank account here. You will need to provide some sort of address here and you will need a registered agent. Find an attorney in your area that can help you figure out if you should foreign qualify.
