Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
Outsourcing
I work for a company that has decided to outsource my department to a third party vendor. We are being told that we can accept the offer from the third party vendor, but if we refuse the offer, it would be considered my resignation and that no serverence package would be offered. Can they do this and what are my rights? Thanks!

Yes, unless you have an employment contract.

Re: Outsourcing
Severance packages are a bonus, not an obligation on the part of the employer.
