Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois
I just recently took a job with bank of America after leaving a 6 year position with CITI , Today we had a conference call and the Operations manager said that all new employees hired between 01/01/12 to 04/30/12 were being offered An employee retention bonus of A sizeable amount. This excludes all new hire employees hired between 05/01/12 to today 06/22/12, I feel this is discriminatory also he stated that this is not to be spoken about as other departments were not offered the same incentive. My hire date was 05/01/12 and Im pissed.
What are your thoughts is there legal recourse?

Not all discrimination is illegal. If they were only giving bonuses to men, or Catholics, or Hispanics, you might have a case. Hiring date is not a protected class.
