Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

Rights Of Owner

I need to find a book on legal rights for business owners. My mother-in-law owns a business and is having terrible trouble with the ways her employees have been acting, pulling little stunts like time card fraud and i heard that if they are fired for time card fraud they cannot collect unemployment but i need to know how to go about reporting things like that or letting unemployment offices know about it so they dont let them get money because all these girls want is free money and they dont deserve it.

Re: Rights Of Owner

I'm not aware of any specific titles which address your situation, but I'm sure Amazon or your local bookstore would have something interesting and useful. There is no need to report anything. If you have proof of employees improperly completing time cards, that is certainly cause for discharge. If they try to obtain unemployment benefits, you will be contacted and asked to respond. If the unemployment office determines there was adequate cause to fire them, they will not receive unemployment benefits.
